Impact Wrestling Knockouts champion Gail Kim & Christy Hemme exclusive

TNA Knockouts

Impact Wrestling is now on Pop TV, and new fans are flocking to the show every week. Knockouts champion Gail Kim and announcer Christy Hemme, both former WWE Divas, recently met with fans in Huntington Park, California, and I got to ask their thoughts on Daniel Bryan‘s retirement, the release of Awesome Kong and what’s in the future for both of these veteran ladies…

First, Gail Kim speaks on the women’s wrestling revolution, re-signing with WWE and if new Knockout Raquel was just paying her dues with severe injuries in a recent match…

On TNA’s new Pop TV deal: We’re so excited, because with Destination America a lot of people were kind of like, ‘Where is that and how can we watch?’ So we lost some viewers that way because they just didn’t know where to find us. Now with Pop TV we started great and every week is just getting stronger and stronger.

Knockouts’ role in the women’s wrestling revolution: I think there’s a women’s revolution happening everywhere, and I think we’ve been doing it for quite awhile. So I don’t feel like there’s been a change in the way we’ve handled or have been portrayed. But now it’s kind of leaking into the mainstream, and that’s mainly because of Rhonda Rousey from USC. She proved that she’s a draw. She can sell out pay-per-views. She can be the highest grossing female out there and that women can sell tickets. So that’s kind of leaked over into WWE and like I said, we’ve always kind of been doing it. I love it.
